The Paris Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism would like to welcome you to our community. The Chamber celebrated 100 years as a chartered organization (1903-2003). The Chamber is a not-for-profit organization and operates on membership dues and non-revenue income. Chamber membership is open to every business, organization or individual interested in promoting Paris and Edgar County. The Chamber is the “front door” to our community and we welcome you as a new resident or a visitor. Paris is the county seat of Edgar County, which has a population of 19,700. We invite you to visit our community and experience the hometown atmosphere and understand why the residents are proud to call Paris-Edgar County “home.” |

CONGRATULATIONS TO PARIS AREA LEADERS CLASS OF 2009! The graduates of the Paris Area Leaders program met June 10, 2009 for a graduation luncheon at Tuscany Restaurant along with their employers, speakers and Chamber Directors. The class graduated 9 students, making a total of 88 graduates since the inception in 2002. Mayor Craig Smith delivered the address to the graduates on the importance of volunteerism in the community. He also demonstrated the future plans of the EdPlex learning center. The Paris Area Leaders Class is offered to anyone who wants to learn more about our community and make a difference in the future of the Paris Area. The class meets monthly for a 3 hour class, from September through May. Applications are now being accepted for the Class of 2010. For more information please contact the Chamber Office. |
